Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide additional information to all interested quoters as a result of questions submitted: Question: What is RSD? Answer: RSD is Relative Standard Deviation. Question: What type of gas analysis system is being used to analyze to the emissions from the sample? This is relevant since it will tell me just how much space is required in the sample compartment and just what my optimum system focal length should be. Answer: The gases released by the laser system will be analyzed by a gas chromatograph-high precision isotope ratio mass spectrometer for stable light isotope measurements, and by an ICP-spectrometer for elemental analyses. Question: Can we propose an option which would integrate the gas analysis system to the laser ablation system as a later add on which must be costed? Answer: No. This option is not needed. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on July 24, 1998.
