Period of performance shall be for one year beginning October 1, 1998 with 4 one year options. Description of Duties and Responsibilities: Hours: 0630 AM to 1700 PM Monday through Friday (Excluding Federal holidays) Approximately 55 hours per week. Guard is to be uniformed and legally armed. Guard will monitor the entrance to the South Annex Compound of the Norfolk Naval Base. All closed van containers/vehicles will be issued a pass (provided by DRMO) and the container will be sealed (seals provided by DRMO). All containers will be checked upon leaving the compound to ensure the numbered seal matches the pass. Guard will be able to provide directions to proper buildings to citizens entering the compound. He/she will be provided with the necessary information to do so. Guard must be able to assist the DRMO in maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere. Must be able to properly and legally handle and control infractions, confrontations, misconduct, or violent acts that may occur. He/she will report any such occurrences that may take place to the Chief of the DRMO. Guard will be available to provide escort service for a cashier to and from Nations Bank for deposit of sales proceeds, but during those times, the main gate must still be manned, meaning a second guard is needed during those times. Transportation will be provided by DRMO. Physical presence is required each working day. This procurement is 100% set aside for small business concerns.
