BATTERIES-USACECOM is projected to solicit for the following batteries in September 1998, BA-5X90, BA-5X47 and BA-5372. Other configurations may be added in the future based on the need of the Government. Separate awards, each to be for a period of three(3) years, will be made for each battery type. Offerors will not be required to bid all three batteries. Projected minimum and maximum quantities for the solicitation are not available at this time. Potential offerors must submit hardware samples for each battery with the proposal, scheduled for closure in October 1998. Batteries will be produced to meet the requirements of MIL-PRF-49471. The first delivery would be no more than ten months after award. The solicitation may also include the requirement for Direct Vendor Delivery(DVD). Potential offerors will be required to have the cell production and battery assembly collocated within the same facility. This notice is not a request for proposals. Comments related to this announcement, or organizations that wish to express their interest in this projected procurement should respond in writing no later than 10 working days after publication of this announcement.
