The Contractor shall provide Logistics Support Services (comprised of Aircraft Maintenance and Central Issue Facilities Operations) including maintenance of rotary wing aircraft, ground vehicles and ground support equipment; operation of the Central Issue Facility with tent and textile repair; and be prepared to provide packing and crating of Class IX items for shipment, logistics instruction, logistics studies and to assist with or operate Supply Support Activities in support of the rotary wing aircraft maintenance and other activities as needed. The contractor shall provide these services for units, activities, and installations assigned to III Corps and Fort Hood, including Army, Air Force, Reserves, National Guard and Department of Army Civilian workforce located in the AR 5-9 support area or other sites throughout the United States. The Contractor shall support units and provide services at U.S. Army Airfields and Heliports, unit locations, training sites, and staging areas on and off Fort Hood, Texas, ports of embarkation, recovery sites for emergency repair anywhere within CONUS and OCONUS when approved by the Contracting Officer. Period of performance will be 1 October 1999 thru 30 September 2000 with four one-year options. The contract type will be a Cost Plus Award Fee. A draft solicitation is tentatively scheduled to be issued o/a 25 August 1998 for comments. The date and time for the proposal conference and site visit will be stated in the draft solicitation. The solicitation with the exception of the technical exhibits will be available on Fort Hood's web site at hood-doc.army.mil.
