The Program Support Center, Department of Health and Human Services, intends to execute a six month contract extension with New Mexico Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Inc., Albuquerque, New Mexico. The purpose of this extension is to be able to continue to provide for a fiscal intermediary to operate a centralized medical and dental claims processing and reimbursement system for Indian Health Service patients. Continuation of the fiscal intermediary services is critical to the patients in Indian Health Service hospitals and clinics. The Indian Health Service intends to have a follow-on contract in place by the end of the six month extension.
