COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 7,1998 PSA#2154INTERAGENCY DISABILITY EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS SHOWCASE On October 6 and
7, 1998 at the Department of Agriculture's Indoor Patio, in
Washington, D.C., an Interagency Disability Educational Awareness
Showcase (IDEAS)will be held. IDEAS is a leading showcase for State of
the Art Electronic Accessible Technologies for people with
disabilities. Presented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture with
co-sponsorship of several Government Agencies in order to promote
Accessible Technologies. This event will feature the wider range of
Accessible Technology, demonstrating that individuals with disabilities
can have equal access to electronic office equipment. IDEAS will also
be showing that everyone can benefit from accessible technology through
universal design. Last year's exhibit hosted 22 vendors from eleven
States. It was attended by a wide cross-section of Public and Private
sector individuals. The participants included: Federal, State and Local
Government Employees; Rehabilitation Counselors; Personnel Specialists;
and people looking for products for their specific needs. All DESIGNERS
and MANUFACTURERS of Accessible Technologies, Products, Services, are
