is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is
TIRSE-98-R-00014 and will be satisified by entering into an
unrestricted Commercial Item (CI) procurement using Simplified
Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Standard Industrial Classification
Code is 7629 with a Small Business standard of $5.0 million. All
provisions and clauses incorporated into this solicitation are in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular No. 97-06. Quotations are
due by COB 08/20/98, at the following location: Internal Revenue
Service; Southeastern Procurement Operations Branch; Attn: Ruth
Nielsen, 2900 Woodcock Blvd., Ste 210; Chamblee, GA 30341. Provide
complete service and maintenance that includes preventative maintenance
and remedialmaintenance for Government owned Uniterruptible Power
Systems (UPS), Rotary and/or static (solid state) and associated
equipment, i.e. inverters, battery banks, chargers, maintenance bypass
equipment and Power Distribution Units for locations in states of
Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina and Tennessee.
The vast majority of equipment to be maintained is either manufactured
or furnished by EPE Technologies, Inc., Costa Mesa, CA. The Contractor
shall provide all personnel, supervision, test and repair equipment,
tools, replacement parts, all travel costs including transportation and
lodging necessary to provide emergency service, preventative
maintenance (PM), remedial maintenance (RM), testing and repair service
to the listed equipment. As a minimum, this service shall provide a
level of maintenance by highly qualified and trained technicians in
accordance with the UPS and battery equipment manufacturer's published
recommendations. In the event, during the course of the contract, the
Government substantially adds to the amount of equipment, removes
equipment or relocates said equipment, the Government shall be required
to extend to the Contractor an opportunity to recover/reduce costs for
PM and RM services at the affected facilities. Contractor shall
provide a firm fixed price for the addition or deletion of specified
services within 15 business days of a request to do so. The Contractor
shall submit a price quote per month for providing services to each
IRS location/Clin as follows on continuing pages: Base Period
(effective upon award of Contract through a twelve month period).
