Maintenance dredging, Inland Waterway, Delaware River to Upper Chesapeake Bay, Stations 162+308 to 250+440. Dredging required to a depth of 40ft. with one foot allowable overdepth. Work areas will be limited to a vertical plane through the required depth contour with no side slopes. Dredging will be performed to a point extending 25 feet outside the channel edges when shoaling occurs along the channel edge within the authorized channel limits. Contract work shall be performed ONLY BY A BUCKET DREDGE WITH PLACEMENT BY BOTTOM DUMP SCOWS. Overboard disposal area known as Site 92 in the Chesapeake Bay is the only disposal site approved for this action. Material will be required to be placed in a manner that will result in berm creation along the eastern edge of the disposal area. Dredge material also is required to be placed along the perimeter of the disposal area to bring all berms up to the maximum -14 feet MLLW. Any remaining material shall be placed within the bermed site not to exceed the -14 feet MLLW elevation. One copy of the plans and specifications will be furnished on CD-ROM free to each bidder. Additional copies will be furnished at a cost of $5.00 each. Firms desiring additional copies should forward a check, payable to "USAED FAO Norfolk", in the amount of $5.00 to the above address. The firm's federal tax identification number should also be annotated on the check. Personal checks should be annotated with the individual's SSN. The small business industrial classification code is 1629 and the small business size standard is $13.5 million. The solicitation will be issued on/about Sept. 4, 1998, and close on/about Oct. 6, 1998. This is an unrestricted procurement.
