Service is soliciting proposals to install a security system, including
a proximity card reader access system integrated with a cctv
camera/monitoring system at the Springfield Bulk Mail Center at 190
Fiberloid St. in Springfield, MA. Work includes, but is not limited to,
sitework; concrete; sealants; doors & windows; finishes; and
electrical. The estimated cost of the work is between $750,000.00 and
$1,250,000.00, with completion within one hundred eighty (180) calendar
days after receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received
in this office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on September 4,
1998. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers
received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or
relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until
award of contract is made. Proposal documents, plans and specifications
will be available o/a August 7, 1998 at a cost of $50.00 per set
(non-refundable) from the Facilities Service Office, U. S. Postal
Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Certified checks
or money orders only will be accepted, made payable to the Disbursing
Officer, U. S. Postal Service (Reference Solicitation No.
082530-98-A-0210). Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and
information regarding their availability may be obtained by contacting

technical aspects of the proposal should be directed to Edward Taylor
at (781) 878-6223. There will be a preproposal conference for this
project on Thursday, August 20, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the site.
