Laboratory (LLNL) Seeks Licensees to Commercialize X-Ray Spectral
Analyzers under US Patent 5,777,336. LLNL, operated by the University
of California under contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
intends to license its recently issued US Patent 5,777,336. The
technology covered by this patent pertains to cryogenic, broadband,
high resolution X-ray spectral analyzers based on X-ray absorption and
thermalization, and measurement of the deposited energy by
microcalorimetry. Such detectors are expected to be able to produce
x-ray spectra between 0.2 and 7 kev with a resolution of 7-10 ev at
real time count rates to 50 Hz. License terms are expected to include
license issue fees, minimum annual royalties, and running royalties
based on sales. Parties interested in applying for a license should
submit a written description of their capabilities and experience
relevant to the field of the invention, and their plans for bringing
