synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. Solicitation F4561398Q0695 is issued as a request
for quote. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-5.
Standard Industrial Code is 1731.Small business size standard is $7M.
This is a small business set-aside in, which only authorized
Veeder-Root Simplicity distributors will be considered. Install leased
Veeder-Root tank monitoring equipment. Remove existing tank monitors
and all associated wiring/equipment/appurtenances at facilities 0001,
1204, 1212, 1258, 1408, 2014, 2050, 2071, 2166, 2262, and 2325 on
Fairchild AFB, WA, also Clear Lake, Cusick and JSSA. All existing
monitors are manufactured by Ronan Engineering, except the JSSA monitor
which is Leak Alert Model #LA-04. Monitoring panels shall be returned
to the government. Upgrade existing Veeder-Root TLS350 monitors to be
"Simplicity" compatible at facilities 1409, 1710, 2175, 2319 and 9000.
Replace all 2" riser pipes on interstitial tank monitor ports with 4"
steel pipe. Install Veeder-Root TLS350 Monitors and all associated
equipment/appurentences to make each tank system (tank and piping)
"Simplicity" compatible at facilities 0001, 1204, 1212, 1258, 1408,
2014, 2050, 2166, 2262, Clear Lake, Cusick and JSSA. Installation shall
include 2-wire shielded cable at all locations and piping sump probes,
which differentiate between water and fuel. Verify that required data
at facilities 2050, 2166 and 2325 is being submitted to Fairchild Fuel
Management System. Program all systems to communicate with Simplicity
Data Services. Connect to existing phone jacks and verify proper
operation of the system. Provide training to base personnel on the
operation of the system. Quotes may be faxed to Sandy Barnes at
(509)247-2073 or mailed to the above address. Anticipated award date is
25 Aug 98. Intended source is Northwest Pump and Equipment in Spokane,
WA because they are the local Veeder-Root Simplicity distributor in
the Northwest marketing area. Numbered Note 22 applies. The provision
at FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications (Jan 1997)
applies to this acquisition. A completed-signed copy of this provision
shall be submitted with any quotation. The clause at FAR 52.212-4
Contract Terms and Conditions (Apr 1998) applies to this acquisition.
The clause at FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to
Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items (Jun 1998)
applies to this acquisition; under para (b), the following clauses are
