NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR REBUILDING ONE EXISTING GENERATOR VOLTAGE SF6 POWER CIRCUIT BREAKER, ONE DISCONNECT SWITCH, AND FURNISHING A NEW GROUND SWITCH FOR HOOVER DAM POWERPLANT, BOULDER CANYON PROJECT, ARIZONA-NEVADA The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate a sole source contract with GE-Hitachi HVB, Inc., for rebuilding one three-phase, generator voltage, SF6 power circuit breaker; one three-phase disconnect switch; and furnishing one new three-phase ground switch for Hoover Dam Powerplant. The parts necessary to rebuild the breaker and disconnect switch were developed by, are unique to, and are unavailable except through GE-Hitachi HVB, Inc. It is believed that no other entities have the proprietary technical knowledge to properly rebuild the breaker to factory specifications.
