The requirement is for an Optical Coherence Tomography System. Which is a non-invasive ophthalmic imaging system that provides fine resolution for viewing the layers of the retina from its most anterior region (cornea, lens) to its most posterior regions of the retina. It has a very fine resolution in ocular tissue based on the principle of low coherence interferometry that renders a two-dimensional image in the transverse (X) and axial (Z) dimensions of he eye with 5 micron resolution. This system provides the biological resolution necessary for assessing laser induced retinal damage and tissue repair induced by treatment with various pharmacological agents. This includes all necessary image rendering software and hardware. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to award is solely within the discretion of the Government. No award will be made on the basis of quotes received in response to this synopsis. If quotes are solicited no additional synopsis will be published. This is IAW Part 12.6 Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items.
