information contact Lynn D. Owens at 312/353-2773 Request for proposals
(RFPs) for the continued operation of the Cincinnati Job Corps Center
located at 1409 Western Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45214 will be
available approximately August 24, 1998, for issue in response to
written requests. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will
cover the period May 01, 1999 through April 30, 2001, plus three
performance based options of one year each. The approximate average
center capacity will be 225 students (90 residential males, 55
residential females, 25 non-residential males and 55 non-residential
females). Job Corps is a residential training program for economically
disadvantaged youth, between the ages of 16-24. The contractor shall
provide academic and vocational training; operate a counseling and
residential living program and provide the following support services:
Health Services, Processing of Student Records, Discipline System,
Clothing Issue, Mail Services and Legal Services. The contractor will
also provide overall center management and administration, staff
training, financial management, procurement and property
management,financial operations and maintenance, security and safety
services, community relations and public information. In addition, the
contractor will provide Outreach/Admissions services. All activities
will be in compliance with applicable DOL/Job Corps regulations,
policies and handbooks. A walk-through inspection of the facility,
followed immediately by a Pre-Proposal Conference, will be convened at
8:30 A.M. eastern time on Wednesday, September 16, 1998. Upon entering
the facility, offerors must stop at the front desk where they will be
given directions for the conference and tour information. All questions
prior to the Pre-Proposal Conference should be submitted in writing.
Requests for this solicitation should include two (2) self-addressed
mailing labels. Proposals in response to this RFP will be due no later
than 12:00 P.M. NOON, central time on November 17, 1998, at the
following address: U.S. Department of Labor, Officeof Job Corps, 6th
Floor, Room 676, 230 S. Dearborn, Chicago, IL 60604. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
