The USDA Forest Service intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Johnson Controls for the Remodification of the Rocky Mountain Research Station -- Missoula Fire Science Laboratory's wind tunnels and combustion facility. The Government is requesting a technical proposal and cost associated with repairing or modifying the following items: leaking dampers and seals; damper linkage,;combustion chamber air leakage; possible auxillary chiller; chiller coils in conditioning chamber; humidity steam generator and spray bars; modification to Johnson HVAC control system; change out existing Johnson system witha new Metasys DDC (with G control language); conduct verification of performance on sequence of operation, main air, sensors and controllers, relays and switches, actuators, controlled devices and any other items Contractor finds during the verification of performance; and fabrication, delivery and set-up in accordance with all applicable codes. The contract time is 180 days. Johnson Controls is the only known Contractor with the combined experience, expertise and prior knowledge of the facility and the system required to complete this project.
