The Marine Corps Systems Command is intending to procure the Asherman Chest Seal on a sole source basis from Asherman Medical Products, Cody, WY. Description is as follows: NSN# 6510-01-408-1920. Dressing, Chest wound. Self adhesive clear 5.5" disk with thermoplastic elastomer (Kraton TM) nipple with one way valve mounted over it. Dressing is specifically designed for the prehospital management of penetrating chest injuries or any suspected open compromise of the pleural cavity. This product is designed to ensure the lung remains inflated despite sustained injury. Dressing is sterile, individually packaged with simple and concise directions on package. Applicator has improved pull tab to allow application with cold weather gloves. We intend to purchase approximately 668 packages of 10. This order will be FOB destination.
