The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC, is contemplating award of a sole source purchase order to Action Manufacturing Company, 100 East Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134 to provide the Government with engineering, technical and manufacturing support in performing failure analysis of HYDRA 70 fuzes. The tasks to be performed include sampling and evaluation of explosive materials, testing of failed items, fabrication and testing of special test items and associated test fixtures, and analysis of test results. The material to be evaluated is currently in possession of Action Manufacturing Company which is the only current producer of HYRDA 70 components. The contractor is also to participate in a failure investigation team and provide technical and engineering support as needed. The contractor shall furnish a final report (in contractor format) detailing his entire efort, which includes test hardware configurations, test set-ups, test results and engineering analysis of the results.
