Purchasing Agent, (202) 767-2374 The Naval Research Laboratory has a
requirement for a Portable Cellular Test Bed System consisting of local
exchange controller to manage the wireless call process functions
including the AMS protocol and the PSTN voice interconnection which
provides software based control of radio base station equipment, call
processing, switching, management for 2000 subscribers and operations,
administration, and maintenance functions of the system. Controller
must support up to 4 cell sites, 4 control channels, 4 locate
receivers, 31 voice channels, 8 direct inward dialing ports, and up to
24 direct outward dialing ports. 8 radio channel units providing
interface to the mobile telephone subscribers via one transmitter and
two receivers (2 antenna frequency diversity) per unit, 8 power
amplifiers to amplify the radio channel unit transmitter power to 45
watts per power amplifier unit, 1 power distribution unit and master
oscillator to provide frequency control, (1) 8 port combiner to combine
the transmitter outputs for connection to the transmit antenna, 1
receiver multicoupler to distribute the 2 receive antenna outputs to
the 16 radio channel unit receivers required for frequency diversity
reception, 1 antenna duplexer to isolate the transmit and receive
channels and filter harmonics from the power amplifier outputs, 3
antenna units to provide the transmitter and two receive antenna
functions for one sector of a three sector base station installation,
