Because the items being purchased support the combatant naval ships with direction finding capability for exploitation of enemy radio communications, SwRI is the original equipment manufacture for the OE/326(V)3. The specification requirements support the COBLU 1 Antenna Group. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared IAW the format in FAR Subpart 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N65236-98-R-0470 is issued as a RFP. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-05. Subject procurement is not a small business set-aside; however, the SIC Code is 3661, with a small business size standard of ! 1000 employees. The contract line items numbers (CLINS), item descriptions, and quantities for the subject procurement are as follows: CLIN 0001 -- UHF Elect. Pack, Mast Ant, #1133-2206-01, quantity 1 and VHF Elect. Pack, Mast Ant, #1133-2208-01, quantity 1. A firm-fixed price type contract will be awarded, with a required delivery schedule on or before 30 October 1998. Inspection and acceptance shall be accomplished at destination, by the receiving activity.
