Maryland is seeking to identify potential sources who can provide
information on technology developments concerning a freezer unit
capable of freezing 120 liquid gel tubes inside the unit from 80
degrees F in 16 hours or less. The freezer unit must have a user
adjustable thermostat ranging from zero degrees to 40 degrees F. The
unit must use both foreign and domestic AC power supplies as well as a
vehicle slave system to vehicle batteries. The unit should also
include an adapter system for use of Air Force aircraft power
(C130/C141/C5/C17) and a rechargeable battery pack system for quiet
operation. Noise during operation should be minimal; preferably silent.
Unit should be capable of sustaining repeated operations (96 hour
duration) in a desert environment while mounted in a vehicle traversing
rugged terrain. Operational environment temperature will range from -20
degrees F to 120 degrees F. Overall dimensions should be at least 63
inches long, 44 inches tall, and 16 inches deep. Cooling area should be
at least 63 inches long, 26 inches high and 14 inches deep. The freezer
unit should be top loading and have a paintable surface. The control
panel should be mounted on the front and power supplies in the rear.
Attached anchor points are necessary for mounting a platform.
Interested firms may communicate their interest in writing to the
Contract Specialist. The communication must fully document the firm's
current capability to respond to a requirement of this type, including
specifications of their product lines, pictures, drawings and any
other commercial/marketing material available. This is not a request
for prroposal. No solicitation exists; however, all responses within 25
days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be reviewed by
the Government to determine what firms in the marketplace currently
have this capability. The final determination is solely based on
