NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ)573-58718-0000/919 in order to facilitate the development of a sensor that meets the future needs of earth and space science missions. It is anticipated that multiple (appx., two) orders will be placed as a result of this RFQ with a firm fixed price not to exceed $70,000. Quotation will be due September 22, 1998, and study results will be due 90 days after receipt of an order. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The anticipated release date of RFQ573-58718-0000/919 is on or about September 7, 1998, with an anticipated quote due date of on or about September 22, 1998.
