Note 22 The Space and Naval Warfard System Command has a requirement for Low Frequency Active Transmit Subsystem (LTS) system engineering support, production engineering support, product improvement, equipment refurbishment, replacement and repair, at-sea and shore based test support, and installation and subsystem integration checkout for the LTS. The LTS is the transmit component of the Low Frequency Active (LFA) system, sonar segment. The LTS receives the transmit descriptions and commands from the Active Receive Subsystem (ARS), selects the proper waveform from a data base, applies appropriated weighting for spatial shading and time delays for beam steeringk amplifies the signal level, and distributes the amplified signal to the transducer modules which transform the electrical energy into focused acoustic energy.
