CONTRACT SPECIALIST KATHIE DUKE (904) 232-3713 (Site Code DACW17) The
project consists of site development, approx. 700'x800'. including but
not limited to utilities, pavement, fencing, site furnishings,
landscaping, storm water retention, security lighting, etc. The
building, approx. 240'x400', is single story with mezzanines in the
dormitory areas. The construction includes, but is not limited to,
concrete and masonry with stucco and gypsum wallboard finishes;
modified bitumen/rigid insulation roofing system; suspended ceilings,
resilient and carpet floor finishes; and a wide variety of security
features including electronic and hardened construction. The facility
is air conditioned with full complement of electrical systems.
Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000..
Pre-Solicitation Notice will be issued on or about 14 Aug 98.
Solicitation DACW17-98-R-0019 will be issued on or about 28 Aug 98 and
open on or about 07 Oct 98. Cost of Plans and Specifications is
$350.00. Checks should be made payable to FAO Jacksonville District,
and sent to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville, Florida. The
following is provided in accordance with SBA Procedural Notices
8000-476 dtd 5/8/97 and 8000-483 dtd 8/7/97. On October 28,1997, this
requirement was accepted into the 8(a) Program by the SBA South Florida
District Director, who has determined that (1) the geographical area of
competition for this requirement is limited to the SBA South Florida
District, and (2) competition is limited to firms in the transitional
phase of program participation. Only 8(a) firms located within the
geographical area of competition and in the transitional phase of
program participation at the date of proposal submittal shall be
evaluated. For purposes of determining eligibility for award of
competitive construction requirements the term "firms located within
the geographical area of competition" shall mean: (1) firms having
principal places of business located within the geographical areas of
competition: and (2) firms having offices with at least one full time
employee located within the geographical area of competition." Branch
office and office shall mean "a place of business that: (1) is other
than a firm's principal place of business for determining 8(a)
eligibility: (2) is established and maintained by the firm for conduct
of one or more business activity(ies) as an on-going business concern
(space provided by the government shall not be used to market other
procurement and shall not be considered an office); (3) was established
and operational on or before the date the instant requirement was
accepted into the 8(a) program; and (4) is staffed by one or more full
time employee(s) on the date that the instant requirement was accepted
