Prospectus for Operation Automobile Service Stations and Repair
Facilities within Yellowstone National Park. The National Park Service
will be releasing a concession prospectus authorizing operation of
automobile service stations, repair facilities and towing services for
the visiting public within Yellowstone National Park. The
concessionaire currently operates seven service stations, four of which
have repair facilities and towing service. These are located at
developed areas throughout Yellowstone National Park. Some employee
dormitories are available in the park. The primary season of operation
is May through September; however, Old Faithful, Canyon, and Fishing
Bridge stations are also open during the winter season, mid December
through early March. The average visitation to Yellowstone is
approximately 3 million annually. The annual gross receipts over the
past five years have averaged about $4,415,660. Staffing includes
approximately 95 seasonal and four permanent employees. This business
has been operated satisfactorily under a Joint Venture Agreement
between TW Recreational Services, Inc., and Hamilton Stores, Inc. As a
satisfactory operator, the Joint Venture is entitled to a right of
preference in award of this contract. The Joint Venture expires
September 30, 1999. It is the intent of the National Park Service to
issue a concession contract for these services. SUPPLEMENTARY
INFORMATION: The prospectus is expected to be issued in the spring of
1999; however, since many of these facilities are closed during the
winter months, the National Park Service is providing the opportunity
for interested parties to inspect the facilities while they are open
this fall. Site visits will be made available September 14, 15, and 16,
1998. Reservations for site visits must be made no later than September
10, 1998. Interested parties should notify Edna Good, Chief,
