announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis. The B-1B System
Program Office (SPO), Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC), is planning
for Interim Contractor Support (ICS) of eight line replaceable units
(LRUs) to bridge the transition between the initial period of operation
and depot support. The LRUs are: (1) Armament Control Box MAU-208/A
(CWIU), PN 400-17165-112, (2) Communications Interface Unit, PN
822-0911-001, (3) Control Display Unit (CDU-900), PN 822-0941-001, (4)
Flight Director Panel, PN L5308056-001, (5) Flight Instrument Panel
Assembly, PN L5308066-001, (6) Flight Instrument Panel Assembly PN
L5308066-011, (7) AN/ARC-210 Control Display Panel, PN 622-8761-003,
and (8) AN/ARC-210 Receiver/Transmitter, PN 822-0878-001. This effort
will require the following: repairing assets, engineering support,
testing after repair, field support, and deliveries made to Tinker AFB,
OK. The Air Force is anticipating a Time and Materials contract for
this support in 1st Quarter FY99. The contractlength will be for
twenty-four (24) months. Potential offerors must have access to
manufacturing data to repair these LRUs. Repair/maintenance technical
data is not in possession of the government. Contractors interested in
this effort must submit the following information for evaluation to
the government. Responses should be concise and include the following
information: (1) Description of experience repairing and testing same,
or similar, LRU assets, (2) Description of engineering support, field
support and capability of testing these LRU's after repair, (3)
Indication of all manufacturing, repair and maintenance technical data
required to accomplish this effort. Turn Around Time (TAT) for these
LRU's will utilize a 25 day, 45 day and 57 day TAT. It is anticipated
that each LRU (above) will have to be individually addressed. Please
indicate if your interest is as a prime or subcontractor. The
government reserves the right to break out components and set aside
specific tasks for small business. An Ombudsmanhas been established for
this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and
communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror
prefers not to use established channels to communicate his concern
during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential
