The U.S. Geological Survey, Biological Resources Division, Corvallis, Oregon, has a requirement for chemical analysis of last year's collection of river otter liver samples. Analysis includes OC pesticides and congener-specific PCBs including co-planar PCBs; dioxins and furans on high resolution mass spectrometer (need all 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 substituted furans and dioxins); heavy metals and mercury; and Pentachlorophenl and diethyl ethers. QA/QC will be handled by the Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS), with spiked samples used. CWS QA/QC standards must be met. The USGS intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
