synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. This acquisition is a 100%
small business set-aside. Delivery shall be FOB destination to Andrews
AFB MD. A site visit shall be held on 27 Aug 98 at 0900. Interested
contractors shall fax intent to attend site visit to (301)981-1911. Fax
shall contain full names of all attendees (limit to two per company).
Responses to this RFQ must be received by 28 Aug 98 at 4:30 p.m.
Delivery and finance addresses will be provided upon award. Award will
be made to the lowest responsible offeror. SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF
WORK: Contractor shall provide all plant, labor, materials, equipment,
and tools to repaint two static display aircraft. F-4 aircraft is
located at building 3500 Fetchet Ave and F-105 aircraft is located at
building 3222 East Perimeter Rd. Both sites are located on Andrews AFB.
Contractor shall photograph each aircraft to allow duplication of
present logo placement and aircraft paint design and color. Both
aircraft shall be sanded down by mechanical methods. All sensitive
areas such as canopies will be maseked off to prevent damage from
sanding. All corrosion areas will be stripped and repaired prior to the
applcation of primer and topcoat. Contractor shall use commericial
grade aircraft primer. Topcoat application shall be of a commercial
grade polyurethane aircraft paint. Contractor shall be responsible for
erecting an enclosure around each aircraft prior to primer application
to prevent the release of spray primer and paint into the atmosphere.
All existing logos and graphics will be replaced with new exact
duplicates. Contractor shall be responsible for the cleanup of both job
sites at the completion of the painting. . PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 29
