Michael Dodd, SEA 02522, (703) 602-8000 Ext 568 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends award Contract N00024-99-R-5200 to Northrop Grumman Norden Systems, Inc. (NGNS) of 65 Marcus Drive, Melville, NY 11747, for Design Agent, Engineering and Technical Services under the AN/SPQ-9B Radar Program. NGNS is the original designer, developer, and sole producer of the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System, including the APG-68 Transmitters which are being provided as Government Furnished Property (GFP) for incorporation into the radar system. As such, NGNS is the only known firm possessing the requisite technical expertise and background to perform the required design agent, engineering and technical services in a cost effective manner while minimizing the impact to the AN/SPQ-9B deliveries to the US Navy's shipbuilding schedules.
