X -- TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND PROGRAM SUPPORT FOR IPMP III PROGRAM POC Tom Higgins, SEA 02411H, (703) 602-7711; Contracting Officer -- Al Arreguin, SEA 024E, (703) 602-0204 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a contract modification with Electric Boat Corporation (EB), 75 Eastern Point Road, Groton, CT 06340 for up to 240,000 man-hours of technical engineering and program support. The required effort will be in support of the Improved Performance Machinery Program, Phase III. The technical areas of support include propulsion and electrical systems and auxiliary equipment for the New Attack Submarine (NSSN). As the design agent for the NSSN Main Propulsion Unit (MPU) and Ship Service Turbine Generator (SSTG) Set, Electric Boat is the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, data, facilities and experience with the NSSN MPU and SSTG Set to perform this effort.
