A portion of the construction will occur below water level. Construction of these works will involve approximately 10,232 cubic yards of excavation; placement of approximately 11,059 cubic yards of semi-compacted fill; and placement of approximately 12,966 tons of stone. Approximately 3,952 cubic yards of fill material will be required from off-site. Related tasks include approximately 1.1 acres of clearing and grubbing; 1.2 acres of turfing; demolition and disposal of one small craft mooring and appurtenances; provision and placement of new navigation warning sign; and removal and re-installation of miscellaneous fencing. Estimated magnitude of work is between $250,000 and $500,000. Issue date for solicitation will be on or about September 14, 1998 at a cost of $31.75 for solicitation and full size drawings; $39.75 for solicitation and half size drawings; $12.50 for solicitation only (all charges are nonrefundable).
