The Army Research Laboratory, Information Science and Technology Directorate, located in Adelphi, MD has a requirement for a physicist with specialized skills at the experienced Ph.D level or equivalent to provide research and development support towards the development and optimization of a prototype Optically Addressed Liquid-Crystal Spatial Light Modulator (OASLM) for real-time holographic phase correction applications. Emphasis shall be placed on building a prototype with improved performance in the areas of net optical efficiency, sensitivity, speed, resolution and optical quality. This is intended to be awarded on a sole source basis to Dr. Leonid Beresnev, Columbia, MD. Dr. Beresnev is an internationally recognized scientist with an excellent background in liquid crystal material sciences.
