NASA/LeRC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Water Flow Control Assembly (WFCA) Orbital Replacement Unit (ORU) which will control and monitor water that flows through the racks of the fluids and combustion facility aboard the International Space Station. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 8999 and $5,000,000, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-unrated. The provisions and clauses in the RFP and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-05. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about August 28, 1998 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about September 28, 1998 An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
