in Cincinnati OH is accepting quotes for destination pricing for a Gas
Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer. The system must operate with existing
equipment which EPA already has in service. At this time, EPA
contemplates a sole source purchase meeting the following
specifications to Leco Corporation St. Joseph MI. GC/MS System
consisting of: 1. 70 ev electron impact mass spectrometer must be
capable of scanning between 25 and 1000 amu. Must also be capable of
scanning this full mass range from 1 to 500 scans per second. This fast
scanning is required to support the fast GC operations which will be
performed using this instrument. 2. Differential pumping capable of
supporting up to 5 mL per minute helium flow into the GC/MS system. 3.
"Fast GC" system: a. GC with 1 splitless capillary injection port and
auto injector; b. gas chromatograph must be fully controllable from
computerized data system, must operate from,0 C to 450 C using LN2,
temperature setpoint resolution of 1 C or better, and must be capable
of temperature programming at 120 C per minute or faster; c. injector
must allow electronic control of pressure, flow and split ratio. Must
operate at pressures between 0 and 150 psi. 4. Data system consisting
of at least a Pentium 300 MHz computer with 5 Gb or larger hard drive.
