Shaw, Heidi.D.Shaw@lerc.nasa.gov. This is an amendment to Request for
Quotation 3-102158 issued on August 6, 1998. The purpose of this
amendment is to respond to a question that has been received. Please
note: the closing date for the request for quotation has NOT been
extended, and remains at close of business SEPTEMBER 21, 1998. Please
note, the numbering of questions is continued from amendments 1-3:
Question 5: "You have mentioned that the solution domain starts at the
exit of the fan nozzle. Does it also start at the core exit. Is the
core part of the computational domain or the simulation starts for the
nozzle fan and core exit. Answer 5: The desired computational solution
domain is external to the nozzle. That means that the solution should
be produced beginning at the fan nozzle exit for the bypass flow and
beginning at the core exit for the core flow. The regions internal to
the nozzle may need to be simulated to get the correct solution, but
this internal region is not part of the required solution. Posted
