Capers Jr., 410-642-2411 ext. 5260 Provide all labor, equipment and materials to add a complete new 1000 ton chilled water refrigeration system to the existing 1800 ton central chiller plant. The new unit will be a 1000 ton electric centrifugal packaged chiller utilizing HCFC-123 or HFC-134a refrigerant with either an open or hermetic motor design. The outside mechanical yard a new cooling tower will be provided. The tower will be a dual cell type, induced draft with capacity to match the 1000 ton electric chiller. Fiberglass or stainless steel construction will be required with no basin heater. The chiller will include a 4160 volt floor mounted starter and a unit mounted control panel. Electrical up-grades to the existing 5 kV walk-in switch gear and 4160 volt feeders are also included as well as new 480 volt motor starters to the existing motor control center for the new cooling tower fans. Work also includes general construction, alterations, structural and concrete work. All work is to occur at Building 321. Performance period includes 280 days, Unrestricted. Firm fixed-price type contract. Estimated range $500,000 to $1,000,000. Bid packages to be issued on or about August 26, 1998. A pre-bid conference will held on September 15, 1998 at 10:00am.
