A -- OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE ADVANCED RESEARCH ELECTROMAGNETIC SIMULATION (ARES) FACILITY SOL DNA001-94-C-0189 POC Carol Dickerson, Negotiator, (703) 325-1193, Scott G. Morton, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-1200 The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) intends to issue a solicitation to EG&G Management Systems, Inc., under existing Contact DNA001-94-C-0189 to extend the contract from its current end date of 30 September 1998 to 30 November 1998, a two-month extension. Under this extension, EG&G will perform technical training for and maintenance and refurbishment of the ARES electromagnetic pulse (EMP) simulator located at Kirtland AFB, NM. This short term extension is a major reduction to the level of effort currently being provided under the existing contract and will "fill the gap" while a follow on competitive procurement is being processed. Based on EG&G's extensive experience with the ARES facility, DSWA believes EG&G is the only contractor capable of providing the required interim-period support within time and budgetary constraints. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to perform this requirement.
