The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service will be negotiating exclusively with the National Indian Council on Aging, Inc., 10501 Montgomery Blvd., Suite 210, Albuquerque, New Mexico for contractual purposes of data gathering, analysis and evaluation process of the IHS Diabetes Program. The contractor to enhance the RPMS system to treack and noitor the prevention and treatment of diabetes, establish population-based data to calculate accurate diabetes prevalence rates, transger enhanced data to the diabetes grantees. Enhance & Expand the Diabetes Management package of the RPMS system and develop a teraching tutorial to go along with it, validate the RPMS diabetes data through the use of demonstration sites at several indian reservation locations. Conduct a geographic information system (GIS) mapping of diabetes with development of a software package to allow this to be done annually with changes in data and a webpage for sharing information, collobrate with other agencies and organizations to accomplish these objectives, and develop reporting mechanisms and formats to prepare for future required reports to the U. S. Congress. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded commencing on or about September 15, 1998 through September 30, 1999. Total project not to exceed $116,000. This is a sole source acquisition.
