U -- ADULT BASIC EDUCATION INSTRUCTORS (2) SOL RFQ-404-0001-9 DUE 110398 POC John Fredrick, Regional Contract Specialist, (678) 686-1414 The Southeast Regional Office of the Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award non-personal service contract(s) for providing two (2) Adult Basic Education Instructors, for the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) and Federal Prison Camp (FPC), P.O. Box 699, 100 Prison Road, Estill, SC 29918, to the inmate population for fiscal year 1999. The Daytime Contractor work schedule will normally consist of six (6) sessions per week, with the session length defined as three (3) hours per session, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The sessions will normally begin at 7:30 am and end at 3:30 pm. The nighttime Contractor work schedule will normally consist of three(3) sessions per week, with the session length defined as two (2) hours per session Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The sessions will normally begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm. A Bachelors Degree in Science, preferably in Education either Secondary or Elementary is desirable. However, (3) three years of satisfactory experience in the field of teaching may be substituted for Education, along with a Bachelors Degree. A minimum of (1) one years experience as a teacher is required. It is desired the contractor have a minimum of (1) one year experience in a correctional setting. Some of the duties are but are not limited to the following: Writing, reading, Social Studies, Science, Literature, and Mathematics, develop, implement, and enhance programs relative to the high school equivalency for inmates at the FCI and FPC. The Federal Correctional Institution, Estill, SC, intends to award a base year contract in FY 1999 with options to renew the contract for four (4) successive years.
