Including options, this project consists of reconditioning 10.5 miles of the existing native surface, surfacing 9.0 miles with a double chipseal and paving the remaining 1.5 miles. The 10.5 miles is a single lane, native surface. The approaches to the Los Alamos Canyon concrete Crossing and 1.5 miles west from the Tenaja Trailhead will be paved. The 1.5 mile portion will be placed over aggregate base and geotextile wrapped drain rock. Drainage components will be repaired, replaced or increased as needed. All outlets will be armored with small riprap energy dissipators. The subgrade will be graded and compacted. Aggregate base will be added to segments with less favorable soil. Estimated cost range of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Project is located in Riverside County, California. SIC 1611. The issue date for this solicitation is August 21, 1998.
