the key maintenance system for all repair activities of heavy forces
in the forward battle area. Heavy forces include tank, mechanized
infantry, cavalry, field artillery, engineers, and support units with
heavy combat, combat support, and combat service support vehicles. The
FRS-H will serve as the primary repair vehicle in the combat trains.
The FRS-H will be a PLS Flatrack mounted system with the following
capabilities, overhead lift, state of the art diagnostics for repair of
supported systems, and battle damage assessment and repair (BADR)
capability necessary to return customer systems to operational
condition. Additionally, it shall have an air compressor for air tools
and inflatable jacks. It shall have welding equipment, industrial
quality hand tools and its own on board generator. The generator shall
be capable of providing power sufficient to operate the crane, welding
equipment, power tools, and on board electrical system. TACOM is
currently planning one on one discussions were offerors will be allowed
to discuss the draft requirements, concerns and delivery schedules from
the 5th through 9th of October 1998. It is requested that offerors
