The Navy requires one each Samsco Model 600-HNA water evaporator. The water evaporator shall consist of operational controls, gas burner, heat exchanger, insulated tank with a cleanout port and an oil overflow outlet. It shall be capable of evaporating at least 792 gallons per 24-hour day. The contractor or his authorized agent will be required to start up the evaporator to ensure the factory settings for controls, regulators, etc. are properly adjusted to provide the most efficient operation. The requirement is being solicited on a sole-source basis from Samsco, Inc., 18 Cote Avenue, Goffstown, NH 03045, since the unit being procured will be a direct replacement (form, fit, and function) for a Samsco Water Evaporator (serial number 1316) which has become unserviceable. The present unit will be cannibalized to supply repair parts as needed for equivalence and interchangeability. A fixed priced purchase order will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. It is anticipated that a formal Request for Quote will not be issued. This procurement is exclusively reserved for Small Business Concerns in accordance with FAR 52.219-6; the applicable Standard Industrial Classification is 3585 and the size standard is 500 employees or less. Delivery is required F.O.B. NSWC Crane no later than 60 days after contract award date. FAR Part 12 procedures apply. See numbered Note 1.
