The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland, intends to procure an AT106 Balance and a HD106 Weight Handler on a sole source basis from Mettler-Toledo, 350 West Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington, OH 43085. NIST requires a balance capable of automatic weighing in the following mass range 20 g to 100 g. The balance shall be compatible with NIST owned Mettler-Toledo AT balances: AT10005, AT1005, AT21. Compatibility is required for programming and computer interfaces. The balance shall permit pre-programming so that weighing can occur at a pre-selected quiet (low acoustic and vibration noise) time with no human (heat source) present. The weight handler is the only handler physically and electronically compatible with the AT106 Balance. The balance shall provide motorized calibration of the electrical range at the press of a button and consist of a fully automatic door opening. FOB Destination. These items shall be delivered 30 to 45 days after receipt of the purchase order. The Contractor shall provide installation and warranty. Warranty shall be for three years. The Government has obtained a quotation from Mettler Toledo that is valid through 9/13/98. This order will be negotiated and incorporated into a purchase order. The anticipated award date is 9/4/98.
