Brooks AFB Tx intends to solicit and negotiate award of a Firm Fixed
Price order for two each low background, high efficiency Hyper-Pure
Germanium (HpGe) detectors. These detectors should consist of all the
components necessary to be connected to existing in-house systems and
conform to the following specs: Required: Two (2) HpGe detectors in a
30 liter streamlined cryostat configuration with a relative efficiency
of 40%. 1. Detectors: (a) Geometry: Cylindrical crystal N-type. (No
POPTOP detector will be cosidered for procurement) (b) Relative
photo-peak efficiency equal to or greater than 40%.(c) Guaranteed
Resolution: full width half max (FWHM) resolution equal to or better
than 1.95 KeV at 1.332 Me V with a FWTM/FWHM peak shape of 2.00 or
less. (d) Entrance window: Ion implanted ultra thin Beryllium window
not more than .020 inches think, not less than 2.35 inches in diameter,
and not more than 3.0 inches in diameter. 2. Detector Housing
requirements: Configuration: (a) Low noise streamlines (slim style)
cryogenic charge sensitive preamplifier (b) preamplifier must be
internal and have auto high voltage shutoff capablility that is
compatible with Canberra model 9645 high voltage power supplies. (c)
Dectector housing can be no more than 3.25 in diameter. (d) When placed
in its accompany dewar, detector face must be adjustable from 35.6
inches to 39.25 inches above the floor. 3. Cryostat Requirement: (a)
Orientation: free standing detector cryostat designed to be used
vertically. (b) Cryostat must have a warm detection capability that
remove high voltage from the detector during warm up conditions. (c)
Dewar must have capacity of 30 liters of liquid nitrogen and allow for
easy removal and insertion of the detector. Collar must have
adjustable height control to assist in the placement of detector. 4.
Miscellaneous requirements: (a) Gamma background radiation must be
minimized by the use of virgin materials with the lowest natural
radionuclide content. (b) Connections for bias voltage, preamplifier
power, analog signal output and test must be provided. All connections
must be compatible with applicable industry standards and work with
all industry standard equipment. No installation will be required from
vendor. Warranty: the detector shall have a standard complete
replacement or repair warranty for a minimum period of one year.
Delivery: to 70LS/LGM, 8006 Chennault Rd Ste 1, Bldg 1150, Brooks AFB
TX 78235-5315 no later than 90 days ARO. Prices should be quoted FOB
destination. This solicitation is IAW FAR Part 12.603(c)(2)(I)
Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial

synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Anticipated award will be 5 days after
