The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13 for contract support for Region III, 3D project to VDI, 200 Front Street, West, suite 2203 POB 35, Toronto, Ontario Canada. The specific purpose of this procurement is to support the EPA's development and delivery of specifically tailored visual information system targeted both for multiple levels of managers -- including the Regional Administrator -- and for nonmanagerial staff; thereby providing an effective, useful and easily understood tool for "seeing" environmental information. This visual information tool is a new information system which will evolve over the next year and will continue to evolve as new needs and uses are identified. It will produce a number of 3D data visualization applications which capture and illustrate the vast amounts of data associated with the Government Performance & Results Act goals, the EPA Region III activities, the accumulated data on the present status of the Region's environmental indicators -- including the stressors and sources in the Region -- and the effectiveness of the existing Region's programs in improving and protecting the quality of the environment.
