20535-0001 N -- INSTALLATION AND MODIFICATION OF EQUIPMENT FOR TWO CARGO TRAILERS
SOL RFP-7241 DUE 091098 POC Karen Smith (202) 324-8808 This is a
modification to combined synopsis/solicitation RFP-7241, a previously
announced procurement action. This modification shall serve as
Amendment #1 which incorporates the following six questions and answers
from vendors into RFP-7241. Question 1 -- Is the 45 days ARO a fixed
time? After speaking to some vendors, this would be a tough time to
meet. Answer -- The 45 day time frame is fixed. The contract time frame
will be modified if the manufacturer is out of stock on the mast and/or
the low profile pan and tilt, or, if Government Furnished Equipment is
unavailable. The contractor shall advise the contracting officer as
soon as possible concerning the above, as well as give an estimated
date of delivery. Question 2 -- Will this be a Time and Materials task?
There are many unknowns at this time. A T&M effort would be better
suited for the Government and Contractor. Answer -- No, this shall be
a firm fixed-price contract. Question 3 -- Are any drawings available?
The level of detail in the synopsis led me to believe that a great
deal of thought went into this effort and some preliminary sketches
should be available. Answer -- There are no drawings available. The
government has synopsized their minimum mandatory requirements. It is
the contractor's responsibility to meet these requirements in the most
efficient and expeditious way possible. Question 4 -- Can you provide
a list of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), with part numbers?
Answer -- Generator is detailed in synopsis. Statpower, Model number
Prosine 2.5 Sine Wave Inverter. Marinco Power Inlet -- Model 301EL-B.
Transfer Relays -- Magnetec 30A -- Model ATS-30R. Question 5 -- What
type of design reviews, if any, do you anticipate? Answer -- It is the
contractor's decision on the design; however, the contractor shall
meet the government's requirements as synopsized. As stated in the
synopsis, the government does require a wiring diagram. Question 6 --
Is there a required location for the generator remote start unit and
harness assemblies? Answer -- The required placement is above the wire
trough between the inverter and the load center. Posted 08/28/98
