Contract Specialist (309) 782-4399 DESC: The following 17 items are to
be consolidated into one (1) buy. Item One: Charger, Bolt, NSN:
1005-00-348-8653, Part Number 7267982, The charger is an assembly of
various machined and cast parts. Knowledge of aluminum die casting,
steel investment casting, machining, and assembly are required in the
manufacture of this item. Qty: Minimum quantity of 250 each and a
maximum quantity of 1100 each. Item Two: Handle, NSN: 5340-00-550-4080,
P/N: 5504080, Minimum quantity is,200 and a maximum quantity is 6,500
each. The Handle is a steel wire hooked shaped assembly consisting of
a bolt, spring, pins, and sleeve. Brazing, spot welding, and phosphate
coating are required. Item Three: Barrel Support, NSN:
1005-00-550-4091, P/N: 5504091 for a minimum quantity of 900 each and
a maximum quantity of 2,100 each. The Barrel Support is a malleable
cast iron cylinder approximately 3 1/8 inches in diameter by 9 5/8
inches long. There are six rows of ascending size holes, three rows
with three holes each, and three rows with four holes each. Item Four
is for the Stop Assembly, NSN: 1005-00- 557-7409, P/N: 5577409 for a
minimum quantity of 500 each and a maximum quantity of 2,100 each. The
Stop Assy is the right hand rear cartridge stop for the .50 Cal
Machine Gun. The Stop is wrought steel or precision cast item about two
inches long by 1 3/16 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches high. Item Five:
Cartridge, Extractor, NSN: 1005-00-600-8959, P/N: 6008959 for a minimum
quantity of minimum quantity of 500 each and a maximum quantity of
1,500 each. The Cartridge, Extractor is used on the M2 Machine Gun. The
extractor consists of an ejector about 1/14 inches long, 3/16 inches
thick and inch wide, and an extractor about 3/12 inches long, 1/2 inch
thick, and one inch wide. Both can be used made from steel or as a
casting. Item Six: Firing Pin Extension, NSN: 1005-00-600-8976, P/N:
6008976 for a minimum quantity of 1,100 and a maximum quantity of 3,600
each. The Firing Pin Extension is a steel tube with a spring and pin
used on the .50 Cal Machine Gun. The extension is about 4 5/8 inches
long by inch in diameter. Close tolerance machining is required to
manufacture this item. Item Seven: Flash Suppressor, NSN:
1005-00-716-2072, P/N: 7162072 for a minimum quantity of 500 each and
a maximum quantity of 2,500 each. The Flash Suppressor is an item to
restrict the "flash" when firing the .50 cal Machine gun. The
suppressor consists of wrought steel or malleable cast iron cone, two
bushings, four bolts and nuts. The Suppressor fits on the end of the
Machine Gun. Item Eight: Body Assembly NSN: 1005-00-726-6835, P/N:
7266835 for a minimum quantity of 1,300 each and maximum quantity of
3,600 each. The Body Assembly consists if a steel or malleable cast
iron body and two steel depressors. The assembly is about 10 inches
long by 1 1/2inches in diameter. Item Nine: Pin Assembly, NSN:
5315-00-731-3106, P/N: 7313106 for a minimum quantity of 2,600 each and
a maximum quantity of 5,100 each. The assembly consists of steel body
and steel wire looped lock. The body is about 2 inches long by 3/8
inches in diameter. Item Ten: Rear Sight Assembly, NSN:
1005-01-003-5475, P/N: 12003047 for minimum a quantity of 1,400 each
and a maximum quantity of 3,900 each. The rear sight assembly consists
of steel base assembly, graduated leaf assembly, spring, riser, scale,
plunger knob and various hardware. Item Eleven: Blank Ammo Firing
Attachment, NSN: 1005-01-091-7510, P/N: 9324931 for a minimum quantity
of 350 each, and a maximum quantity of 1,500 each. The Blank Firing
Attachment is a system used with the .50 cal Machine Gun for firing
blank ammunition. The attachment consists of a Guide Assy, Support
Assembly, Chamber, three Spacers, two wire Rope Assembly, and various
hardware. Item Twelve: Buffer Assy, NSN: 1005-01-141-1235, P/N: 9340487
for a minimum quantity of 3,000 each, and maximum quantity of 7,000
each. The Buffer Assembly consists of a buffer tube, rod assembly, and
a piston rod nut. The assy is about four inches long by one inch
diameter and is used on the .50 cal Machine Gun. Item Thirteen:
Retaining Ring, NSN: 5325-01-380-9932, P/N: 11786287 for a minimum
quantity of 500 each and a maximum quantity of 1,800 each. The
retaining ring is a commercial MS part altered by a black oxide finish
and degreased. Item Fourteen: Recoil Buffer Mechanism, NSN:
1005-01-453-9289, P/N: 7266821, for a minimum quantity of 500 each, and
a maximum quantity of 1,100 each. The Recoil Buffer Mechanism consists
of a Body Assy, Buffer Assy, Guide Assy, Spring, Accelerator, Pin
Assembly and Lock. Knowledgeable of malleable iron casting, investment
casting, and steel machining are required to manufacture this item.
Item Fifteen: Cover Assy, NSN: 1005-01-453-9290, P/N: 6528309 for a
minimum quantity of 500 each and a maximum quantity of 1,500 each. The
Assy consists of a cover, pawl assembly, arm, plunger, lever, shaft
assembly, latch, various springs and pins. Knowledge of machining
austentic steel forgings, and investment casting, and assembly are
required to manufacture this item. Item Sixteen: Backplate Assy, NSN:
1005-01-454-8486, P/N: 12012077 for a minimum quantity of 500 each and
a maximum quantity of 1,800 each. The Backplate Assy is a rectangluar
steel and zytel component of the Charger Bolt for the .50 cal Machine
Gun. The assembly is about one inch wide, 7/8 inch thick and 1 inches
long. The steel component of the assembly is made from either carbon
steel bar or an investment casting. Item Seventeen: Bushing, NSN:
5365-01-454-8487, P/N: 12012079 for a minimum quantity of 500 each and
a maximum quantity of 1,800 each. The Bushing is a commercial plastic
type component of the Backplate Assy. The Bushing is made of Dupont
Zytel and has a head of about one inch in diameter and a stem of about
inch in diameter, and a center hole of about inch. FOB is destination.
For use on the M2 Machine Gun Estimated issue date is 30 Nov 98. This
solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR
4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be
provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or
after the issue date by accessing the following address via the

This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments
thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is
in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore
incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above
internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be
issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them
prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may
render your bid or proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection
of same. The proposed contract will include a 100 percent option.
Proposed contract is 100% small business set-aside. This solicitation
incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via
the internet. Vendors who need this TDP in order to prepare a bid or
proposal are instructed to request same by submission of an email
request to: tdpdist@ria-emh2.army.mil. Any said requests should contain
the following information; CAGE Code (if available), Company Name,
Point of Contact (optional), Street Address, City, State, Zip Code,
Telephone Number. A TDP will be provided by normal mail after the
solicitation has been released to the internet. All or a part of this
