This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Pricing shall be as the item requested or equal. Equal items shall meet or exceed the operating characteristics of the equipment requested. A technical evaluation of the equal item will be performed prior to acceptance. INS has a requirement for a Base and Slide Assembly. This equipment must include the following: The Universal Receiver (UR) shall be able to mount the following test barrels: 1. Shotgun gauges, Rimfire caliber ammunition, Centerfire pistol and revolver ammunition, Centerfire rifle ammunition. The UR shall be able to function with a copper crusher, a quartz high pressure transducer, the copper crusher and the quartz high pressure transducer at the same time, or with two transducers in opposition. The barrels shall mount in a key in the housing of the receiver. The firing pins and firing pin plates shall be able to be easily changed. The UR shall be mounted on a Base and Slide Assembly (BSA). The UR and BSA shall meet all Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, Inc. (SAAMI) specifications and the American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI) specifications.
