The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis the following items manufactured and provided only by Intersolv of Beaverton, Oregon: (1) Software Product: Dimensions Solaris 2.x (concurrent), OS: Sun, Users: Eleven (11) license upgrade (1 each); (2) Software Supportnet for Eleven User license for one (1) year (1 each). Written documentation must be provided addressing the year 2000 compliant issue. Software support shall consist of all updates, upgrades, enhancements and unlimited telephone support. The contractor must provide the software and support license/support agreements. The submarine Launch Ballistic Missile (SLBM) is required to utilize configuration management tools in support of United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and Strategic System Programs (SSP). With increasing items being placed under configuration control, the currently government owned Dimensions licenses are unable to support the growing configuration management requirements. This software procurement is essential in support of SLBM mission critical programs such as TRIDENT II, TRIDENT II BACKFIT, TRIDENT I, and UK TRIDENT II for current and future mission requirements. Intersolv is the manufacturer and only vendor that can provide the Dimensions Solaris 2.x software upgrade. These items are proprietary to Intersolv. This software must interface and be compatible with the government owned Sun Microsystems computers. Increasing the number of licenses and users will allow the government to support its growing configuration management requirements.
