SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL 70 -- Subscription Renewal. The Government intends to issue a sole source contract to renew it's Commodities/SCI Data Inc. subscription package from October 1, 1998 through September 30, 1999. The database provides access to data and analysis on a timely basis, for commodities further along in the marketing chain than raw farm products. The system keeps abreast of major policy developments occurring globally, which may indirectly but significantly bear on the domestic situation and outlook for commodities. The comprehensive database must provide reports on all commodities, including domestic and international market information. The SCI Data Inc. subscription will provide: (1) Access to all SCI livestock, meat and poultry reports, including daily, weekly and monthly submissions via mail, SCI's Bulletin Board System (BBS) and fax; (2) Access to SCI's eggs and orange juice reports provided monthly via mail and BBS; (3) Access to SCI's grains oilseeds and cotton reports provided daily, weekly, and monthly via mail, BBS and fax (note, this includes SCI's domestic and international Acreage and Productions reports, as well as weather analysis/reports); (4) Access via fax to SCI's Washington Policy Report; (5) Receipt of three sets of "SCI's Livestock, Meats, Poultry Price Ratio Books"; (6) Two free registrations to the SCI Spring and Fall Conferences; (7) Access to all SCI analysts via telephone; and (8) Access to a senior service team, which will hold two meetitngs per year at the AMS/USDA office to discuss markets and related outlook. This is a small business set-aside. Anyone with equivalent capabilities in the type of subscription required may send product literature demonstrating the ability to fulfill the necessary requirements.
