This requirement is to purchase the necessary computer hardware and software components to upgrade the existing Logiplex Host Computer System, which operates and controls the ALC Intrusion Detection System (IDS). The existing host operating system, Xenix, will most likely have Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance problems and the current hardware is rapidly becoming obsolete. This upgrade will provide a Y2K compliant, Unix based operating system and hardware components better suited for today's operations. This is intended to be awarded on a sole source basis to Logiplex Corporation, Portland, OR. The IDS is a centrally monitored matrix of sensory devices and firmware designed to detect and report the presence of personnel in select areas placed in a secure status. The local access panels and host computer system hardware and software was originally furnished by Logiplex Corporation. Any upgrades to the existing IDS must utilize the Logiplex software and programs to function properly.
